Let's Talk Blush

Thursday, August 14, 2014

Blush & eyeshadow are two things I tend to seek out first in both the drugstore & higher-end chains. I've made a mental note to avoid these two until I use up most of what I already own so that I show each product a little love before purchasing more. This post is all about blush & my top 6 favorites I've purchased over the past 6 months. Enjoy!
Each product ranges in price from $2-$30. There's an option for every budget included.
1. ELF blush in Pink Passion.
This blush is a brighter shade. I like to wear this when I need a little more brightening up. I'll focus more on my lashes & cheekbones when I feel like i'm looking tired. The product has lasted me awhile, has great pigmentation & is only $3. So worth it.
2. ELF blush in Glow.
This blush look great with a tan. I use a medium BB cream by L'Oreal when I have a little more color & I almost exclusively use this with it. It does exactly what the product is named, makes you glow. Don't expect a lot of color payoff. It's more of a subtle highlight with a little shimmer but very pretty on & at $2 you can't beat it.
3. Milani blush in Dolce Pink.
I love Milani products. They're a drugstore price with a higher-end quality. If you don't like shimmer, this product isn't for you. It's decked out in shimmer but the color payoff is amazing & in the summer I don't mind a little shimmer on my cheeks. $7.99 is also a great price for a baked product.
4. Revlon Golden Affair blush in Rose Rapture.
This product is limited edition (sorry!) but I had to include it in my list. If you're giving your face the works, i.e. contour, I think this product is perfect. It has subtle hints of gold which helps highlight points on the face in place of a highlight shade. So add a little bronzer & this product and you're good to go for a night out. I did see this product going for close to $20 on E-bay since it is limited, but also found a website where it's going for $9.99 (all will be linked below).
5. NARS blush in Amour.
I had forgotten about this product & after organizing my makeup recently I came back across it. I wore it exclusively for a few months & still love it. It is so pigmented & a great color on anyone. It's pricey at $30 but I do believe you get what you pay for in most product cases, & this is no exception. It's a great product & will last you awhile.
6. Laura Mercier blush in Pink Lotus.
Can you tell this is my favorite? I am in need of buying another but I want to use up some others before repurchasing. This has lasted me months & after purchasing, I wore only this color for at least 4 months so it lasts awhile. At $26 it's a little pricey, but the color is gorgeous & I'm a sucker for a good matte blush.
