Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation: Review & Trial

Tuesday, May 20, 2014

I upgraded my foundation game this weekend. Although my favorite drugstore foundation continues to be Revlon's Photoready Foundation, I wanted a fuller coverage, buildable foundation that matched my neck**. This is super important for me in the summer time because my face is almost always darker than my neck & chest. So when I visited Estee Lauder, we tried 8 or 9 shades until one blended perfectly into my neck. (I'm in the color 1W2 Sand) First off, I have to say how great it was to be loaded down with 'gifts' when I purchased one item. I was given a large Lily Pulitzer tote (great lake bag), 2 Lily Pulitzer containers for shampoo/conditioner while traveling, large sized EL day cream, EL mascara, full sized EL lipstick, EL lipgloss & EL facial lotion/makeup remover.
 The foundation has really great coverage. I'm currently switching up my skincare routine so i'm more broken out than normal, but the redness disappears once you blend the product into your skin.

 You DON'T need a lot of this product. Apply a small amount & then build on top of it if needed.
{With Double Wear Foundation only}
My lighting was a little off, but it's a perfect match to my neck. My redness is gone & it took care of any shine so it's a great matte option for oily skin girls.
{Rest of makeup on, including CoverGirl Translucent Powder & ELF bronzer & blush combo}
Overall, I really like this product. It will be my 'go-to' foundation for nights out & summer get togethers. For a daily basis? I'll stick to my L'Oreal BB Cream. I don't think wearing a full coverage foundation in the summer heat is the way to go unless you want to continuously blot & re-powder. I am happy with this purchase & glad I opted for a higher-end product this time around! It really does make a difference.
