Weekend Update!

Monday, September 24, 2012

Hey guys! This weekend was a busy one but I'm finally getting time to reflect on it through the Weekend Update Link-Up

As I mentioned in my last post, I went to Arkansas to visit Josh for the weekend. His mom was in town, too, so we got a lot of family dinners/ lunches/ outings in & time to ourselves as well.
Is there anything better than a handsome guy & a sweet baby? I think not. Manny loves his uncle Josh! We decided to go to a pumpkin patch on Saturday after lunch, but it was a bust! Turned out to be a small farmers market & the actual patch didn't open til Oct 1st. I'm all about tradition & a pumpkin patch trip each year is something I want us to start, so I'm not too discouraged--still have plenty of time to find a good one :)
We got a hike in at Hobbs State Park (I hope I spelled that right) on Saturday after the pumpkin patch fiasco. He had been there before & knew of a detour we needed to take in order to see a particular spot he liked. It was so beautiful! The breeze was just right and the view couldn't have been better. I'm glad I snapped a few pictures of it. --Also, the animal lover himself found a turtle & had to pick it up for a picture along the trail. Typical.
Alright you all, my roommate, aka ~the makeup queen~ found a website with great, cheap makeup products. Fyrinnae does not disappoint. I ordered this lip shade (dragons blood) for $7.00 & it is a really big tube! It came with a free eyeshadow sample as well. Also, Josh's mom gave me my late birthday present this weekend-- a bubble necklace in my favorite color! I told her how I had been on the hunt for the perfect one & was so excited about it. She had seen one on a coworker & thought it was something I would like. Perfect!
We were able to watch Courageous together over the weekend as well which is something we've been wanting to do for months. He had seen it previously, but it meant more to see it together. It is a very emotional but excellent example of how much can be accomplished through extreme faith & positive influence within the home & work place. Grab a tissue & your significant other for this one.
I had to come straight home from church on Sunday to take an online test for my sociology class (boo, hiss) but it wasn't too terrible. Afterwards, Kristen & I had some creative roomie time. Hers a little more creative than mine... she's an excellent painter. I'm a colorful list maker.

I think that sums up the majority of my weekend. I hope you all had great weekends & are having great weeks! I also wanted to say thank you to those who connect with my blog/ find it interesting enough to leave a comment! Random comments make my day a little brighter so I always try to do the same for others. It's what the blogging community is all about, so thanks for stopping by!
Have a great rest of the week :)
