Knit sweaters, pumpkin candles, fuzzy blankets...

I could go on & on about my love for all things F A L L, but I thought I would show you instead.

First of all, what is better than breaking out your cozy clothing when the leaves begin to change? Below are 3 tops I've added to my fall clothing collection this season. Each top came from Tobi & I am in love with each item!

A light and airy top with tie detailing for the warmer fall days (to be paired with jeans and boots, of course.)

An oversized comfy top for errand running and weekend dates.

And a knit sweater for the holidays when I am wanting to oversized item to conceal the extra helpings of food I plan to get.

Creating a cozy home during the colder weather is another reason why I love fall so much! My husband & I enjoy movie nights with warm blankets & crockpot meals. A recipe I shared via Instagram recently was this Veggie Beef Soup I found on Lauren Benet's YouTube channel. We paired it with crusty bread (A french baguette from Walmart) and warm, fresh baked cookies!

Before the back to school collection left Walmart I was able to snag a throw blanket from the Dorm collection. It is a DREAM and I've found one similar HERE. Another shoutout for the bedding we recently picked up at Bed, Bath & Beyond. It's not fall colors, but I absolutely love it!

Lastly, to create a cozy home environment you need inviting scents. Bath & BodyWorks is the mothership of all scents cozy & inviting. I picked up this Warm Cinnamon Pumpkin Candle on a recent trip there & I plan to go back for a second!

So, what F AL L pieces are you loving? I hope you've enjoyed the items i've shared--please share with me if you try any of the above items & what you think of them!

Full Face Holy Grail Products

Monday, February 27, 2017

Hey friends! Today's post is centered around my favorite makeup products to complete a full-face look! No more & no less. This collection of favorites contains a good mixture of high-end & low end products. After much trial & error over the years, these are the items that I can't quit. Some I grab on a daily basis, others are saved for the 'more glam' moments. All are equal in quality. Have you tried any of these products? I'm curious what's on your 'must-have' makeup list!

1. CoverGirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation.
I wore this foundation on my wedding day. It's that good. It has built in primer & concealer so it has a smooth application + the coverage needed for any breakouts. It's more of a medium coverage foundation, but can be built up to full coverage. I would suggest using a beauty blender/dupe for this product for maximum coverage and flawless application. --$11.99/Ulta.com

2 .Rimmel London Skin Tone Adapting Concealer
This Rimmel concealer has great coverage, a creamy application & doesn't cling to dry patches or fine lines. It comes with a brush applicator attached to the end & the product is released by squeezing the tube. I prefer this concealer over the others I have tried for the coverage & the under eye brightening capabilities. I always feel like I look more awake using this concealer. --$5.99/ Ulta.com

3. Rimmel London Stay Matte Pressed Powder
This product is perfect for normal/oily skin. It keeps the oil at bay while minimizing the appearance of pores. It's shine-control lasts up to 5 hours.--$3.97/Walmart.com

4. Lorac Pro Contour Palette
A friend passed this contour palette on to me when she discovered it didn't work for her. I'm so happy she did! I've never found a bronzer that blends so seamlessly on my skin. I use the light bronzer unless i'm self tanned, then I use the medium shade. I also like to use the beige highlight under my eyes on dark circle days. A little pricey, but worth the investment. --$45/ Ulta.com

5. Nars Orgasm Blush
I think it's safe to the that this blush has made it to many Holy Grail lists over the years. It's silky & blendable. It's also complimenting to all skin tones & is light enough to pair with a bold eye. $30/NARS.com

6. BECCA/Jaclyn Hill Highlight Champagne Pop
I purchased this highlight the day it was released to Sephora. After watching Jaclyn Hill for a few years on Youtube, I knew the girl would release a phenomenal highlight shade. She didn't disappoint! I don't use this on a daily basis, but I love having it on hand for glam nights. It has multi-toned pearls which allows the product to adjust to every skin tone. $38/Sephora.com

7. Urban Decay Eye Shadow Primer

A little goes a long way with this product, which means this little tube lasts a long time. I like the thicker consistency of this product & also how is conceals any lines/veins on eyelids for optimal shadow pigmentation. My tip is to let it dry completely before using shadows on top. $20/Sephora.com

8. Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette
My sweet husband surprised me with this palette 2 Christmases ago & my love for it is still going strong. It has the shades needed for a natural look and a glam look. It's my favorite to pack for trips since I know it will supply me with any look needed. Tease, Foxy & Pistol are my favorite shades.--$54/Sephora.com

This is another product that was given to me by a friend. I believe it came in her BirchBox. It lasted so long & the pigmentation is incredible. It's also skinny enough to create a simple wing for a day time look, which is my favorite liner look. It is smudge proof and lasts all day. $14/ASOS.com
I'm not a big fan of thick lip products. For that reason, I choose to use a natural lip liner with balm over top most days. My favorite lip liner is MAC's Whirl which gained popularity around the time Kylie Jenner's lips did. $17.50/Macy's.com

A full curved brush & no clumps. I fell in love with this mascara after using it only once. It has 10 layers of bristles to coat every lash. $8.99/ Maybelline.com

I only use this product on hot weather days and nights out. Just spray 3-4 sprays over completed makeup & your makeup look will not budge. Not even a little! This was another item used on my wedding day. I sprayed the entire bridal party before we walked down the aisle. $31/Ulta.com
I picked up this product after a friend recommended it for my dry lips. I've since learned it does so much more than heal dry lips. It can soothe minor burns, heal cracked elbows & knees + help with dry ends of hair! Plus, it's a cheaper buy. $6/Sephora.com

This primer is heavenly. I've never felt a product so silky or smooth. The first time I tried a sample of this product, I was hooked. It smooths the skin with minerals to create a perfect canvas for the makeup applied afterward. It's oil free, reduces redness + pores + fine lines. $19/Nordstrom.com

Current Favorites: Jewelry, Beauty, Style

Tuesday, February 21, 2017

Like any girl with an interest in beauty & fashion, I go through phases of favorite products & trends. This is a collective list of all things i'm currently loving in 2017.

Accessory Obsession
dainty necklaces + dangling earrings

If you've ever shopped at an accessory retailer, you know it can be a tedious process to sort through the wall to wall collections of items. I enjoy shopping accessory shops online or when I know exactly what I'm looking for in store. This month I am loving all things dainty and feminine.

I used to believe you had to choose between a necklace or earrings since wearing both seemed like a too-bold combo. I'm now appreciating the styling of dainty pieces which you can pair with any other piece of jewelry without the risk of overkill. DogEared & Kendra Scott both carry stunning dainty pieces, but for a more affordable alternative Charming Charlie & Forever 21 both carry the styles without the high prices.

THIS Rhinestone Drop Chain Necklace from Forever 21 would be perfect with long gold earrings & thin midi rings.
THIS light pink Dainty Faux Gem Pendent Necklace from Charming Charlie would be the perfect layering piece for any Spring outfit.
THIS Trio of Chic Earring Set is a great assortment for work or a dinner date.
THESE Mermaid Bead Fringe Earrings from Charming Charlie have enough gold detailing to be paired perfectly with a thin gold necklace.

My one current high-end obsession is the Cartier Love Wedding Band (though I rarely see anyone sport it as a wedding ring.)

Skincare & Beauty

I've only heard good things about both of these items. The Mario Badescu RoseWater Spray brings hydration to the skin prior to applying makeup. It also helps to create a dewy finish to your makeup look & is great paired with cream products.
TooFaced released the Sweet Peach collection & the majority of the items sold out very quickly. Now that the shadow palette is available, I hope to get my hands on it soon. The TooFaced Chocolate Bar palette is my favorite to work with so I know this new one will be just as great. Plus, it smells like peaches!

White Sneakers + Distressed Jeans

images via Kohls.com & OldNavy.com

I can't keep white white for the life of me, so I am surprised at myself for loving the white sneaker trend. I grew up in these Adidas sneakers & 15 years later i'm still loving them.
My love of distressed boyfriend jeans has never withered. I think they go perfectly with simple white sneakers. THESE jeans from Old Navy are affordable & trendy.

What trends are YOU loving right now & what upcoming trends should I be looking out for?

2016 Christmas List

Wednesday, November 30, 2016

Each year I have fun putting together my Christmas wish list. This year I put a spin on things & created a Pinterest folder of items i've been wanting/loving this season. I also included some gift ideas for my hubby because he doesn't have access to my Pinterest & can't see what i'm keeping 'lists' of on there ;)
I follow Casey Holmes on YouTube & she's been sporting this robe in her vlogs lately. It looks like the cozy mothership & I'd love to snuggle down in it on a cold morning!
I think Christmas is a good time to stock up on skin care items to start the new year off right.

I'm pretty simple when it comes to style--i like cute & comfy! So I found this Under Armour Storm UA Logo Twist Pull Over & I love the color.

If you're like me, you're a picky planner person. I look forward to purchasing a new planner every year. I've recently discovered Happy Planners from Michael's & the Tranquility design has my name all over it.
These slippers from Target are perfect for cooking in, lounging in or running errands. I'm liking the tan color.

What's on your Christmas list this year?

Turning 25

Wednesday, September 9, 2015

I turned 25 on September 3rd. I still can't really believe I am 25 years old, but I think I will feel that way as I greet each birthday, year after year. I had an amazing birthday this year--filled with love & graciousness from family & friends. I also had time to reflect on year 24 & just how filled to the brim it was with excitement, newness & lessons. The Lord most certainly taught me so much throughout the past year. I laughed, cried, stressed, achieved, struggled, but most importantly I learned. I moved from Oklahoma to Arkansas on my 24th birthday. I was blessed with my first church home (Life Connection Church in Bentonville). I started a new job with Victoria's Secret which has been a lesson in itself & received promotions & recognition within my role. I got married & started living with my best friend. I traveled to Mexico, Jamaica & Grand Cayman on an amazing honeymoon (& also freaked about the possibility of getting Ebola once we were on the ship--thanks for talking me out of that one, babe.) We went on multiple mini-roadtrips (our favorite). I won an exciting contest & was able to write for Women's Health magazine over the summer. I started singing on the worship team. I started filming for my YouTube Channel again. I learned about being a wife. I gained new friendships. I also learned more about who I am & who I want to be as a daughter of God. I am excited to take the journey of year 25 & can't wait to share my adventures on this little blog this year.

I started my birthday out by being woken up by my husband with a large column bible & Prismacolors to start an illustrated faith bible! He teamed up with a friend to get a 'starter kit' going for me & this new hobby. He also discovered the thrill of using coupons via smartphone at Hobby Lobby. What a blessing.
Next was a run on my favorite trail. I walk to it from our apartment--I can't wait until the colors start changing this fall.

I had plans to spend the day with a friend so I put on comfies & headed that way--& was greeted with the sweetest surprises! Lunch, sweet treats & a HUGE box of illustrated faith items. I was so excited & grateful! (& overwhelmed by how sweet it all was.)
When Josh got off of work we headed to Fayetteville to eat at the Catfish Hole. We had never been but heard good things--& we love trying new places. It was great, but you have to be in the mood for fried food! Then we went & picked up some cupcakes (Disney Princess, of course) and ice cream & watched a Redbox movie. I also had dinner with my MIL & FIL at Table Mesa in Bentonville the following Saturday & they gave me sweet cards, a gift & my SIL gave me an Ulta giftcard (which I promptly spent immediately after dinner :)
Here's to year 25 & all that it has in store!

How to Get Out of a Funk

Wednesday, July 15, 2015

We've all been there for one reason or another--on any given day we wake up & without any warning, proceed to be stuck in a funk. I believe my state of mind is affected by anxiety which leads to a dark hole of social anxiousness & depression. For instance, if I feel like i'm not living up to the expectations of people around me I can fall into this pit. Or if I let 'need to do' items pile up i'll fall down this slippery slope & become one funk stuck Jordan. This isn't a list to tell you to snap out of it. Quite the contrary. It's a suggestive list that includes items which have helped me to return to a peaceful state of mind amidst otherwise anxious circumstances. I hope it helps you too.

--Take a long, hot shower. Shave your legs, deep condition your hair & treat yourself like you are deserving of the extra time spent on self-care. Because you are. Use your best smelling lotion when you get out. It will linger throughout the day & you'll feel like a million bucks. Trust me.

--Deep clean your home. I know, I know. This sounds like extra work on a day you'd rather curl up & hide, but that's the point. Push yourself to do something that will take effort so that you feel useful. A deep cleaned home also feels good & you will, in turn, feel happier as a result. I also recommend Britney Spears Pandora during said cleaning--& a sporadic dance party.

--Give yourself a DIY mani/pedi/facial. Choose happy colors (mine are raspberry & robin's egg blue). Use a relaxing facial formula & follow up with a calming lotion. Anything with lavender should do the trick.

--Read an inspiring book. I've been reading At Home with Madame Chic by Jennifer L. Scott. It's a great read which emphasizes the importance of staying present & doing little things for yourself daily.

--Step away from the computer! And the phone, the t.v., the ipad, etc...take a pen & notebook to your local park & get some fresh air instead. Go for a walk! Clear your mind without attempting to fill it with world news, updates from acquaintances & so forth. The constant tech exposure will not only add anxiety but will also take away time spent learning about yourself.

--Eat a healthy meal. Or a full days worth! You can go to bed with the satisfaction of knowing you gained nutrients throughout the day.

--Get creative. I've recently been on an adult coloring book kick. Check them out HERE or at your local Barnes & Noble. Write a poem. Scrapbook. Anything that will take your mind from a dim place & shed some light on your talents.

--Talk to Jesus. This really should be up at the top but this isn't a number ordered list. I know that I can get so anxious & wrapped up in personal trials that I think I can just continue handling it all myself. But we don't have to. The minute I open my mouth to ask God for help or open my bible to gain clarity is the moment I can breathe again. Contentment washes over me. We may not have the problems causing our anxiety answered, but the truth is that we aren't in this alone.

--Call your mom and your best friend. They know you extremely well. The goofy side of you, the sad side & every side in between. They also want the best for you & will provide the words you need in that moment.

--Do something childish. I don't mean fall back on your maturity & act a fool. I mean build a fort, play board games, throw water balloons, color...anything to bring childhood joy to your life. You will laugh & ease away the anxious pain.

--Make up a personal daily mantra & repeat it until you can breathe easy. This also helps if you're prone to anxiety attacks or social anxiety. One i've used is 'I am not alone. You will never leave me. You are always for me.' also, 'Calm down & be present. You are worthy.' You can use mine or create a personal one depending on your own circumstances. They are so helpful!

--Wake up early & finish up every item on your to-do list. If this list is a mountain high, take on a set number each day for a week and set out to accomplish them. If you have deadlines from people depending on your work--finish them NOW. You will feel so much better in the end.

If you are in a funk & feel like there's no way you'll get out, I challenge you to step outside your comfort zone & handle it differently this time around. You can do it! To quote highschool Musical, we're all in this together!
